Take the Free Learning Style Assessment

Study smarter, not harder.

A learning style is an individual’s approach to learning based on strengths, weaknesses, and preferences. Every child has a different learning style. Some students prefer to learn by hearing, some by seeing, others by doing. Some learn by reading and others, by asking questions. One thing all students have in common is that they all learn best when they can incorporate items and topics that interest them and have a curriculum presented to them in the style that best suits them. When students know their learning style, doing school work becomes easier.

At Groza Learning Center, we know there is more to academic progress than school assessment tests. Your child has a unique learning style that is based on their strengths, weaknesses, and learning preferences. When they understand how they learn, they are empowered to become more successful in future higher education.

Your child is either a:

  • Visual Learner – sensitive and insightful
  • Auditory Learner – expressive and communicative
  • Kinesthetic Learner – uses hand and body movement

Groza’s learning style assessment consists of 20 questions and can be completed in under 10 minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Why does my child need a Groza grade level learning assessment? Isn’t the National Assessment enough?

The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) is a nationally representative assessment of what U.S. students know and can do across various subjects. If your child’s school (and hence your child) participates in the NAEP test, they won’t see their individual test results, or even their school’s test results. Instead, the information drawn from the tests is used by State boards to understand and highlight where student populations as a whole sit in terms of their education level across various subjects.

Because the NAEP is a summative assessment, and doesn’t provide individual results relating to your child’s academic level, it is not so useful for individual students. Therefore, many parents seek more formative assessments that return individual results and help their child know the areas they need to improve upon.

2. What are Groza’s Grade Level Assessment Tests?

Too often there’s a one-size-fits-all approach to education, and children are placed into elementary school or high school grade levels according to their age, rather than the level of education appropriate for them.

Our grade level assessment tests provide a smarter, more balanced assessment of your child’s educational progress. For children in early childhood, and older students already involved in the school year, we can make an assessment of current ability in regards to your child’s reading level, including reading comprehension, their english language proficiency, and their performance level in math.

Not only do we complete this grade level school-readiness assessment, but we also complete alternative assessments that take into account your child’s learning style, and if they have special education needs.

Whilst our assessment testing includes similar tests to the standardized testing used in the National Assessment, we’re able to do much more for you with the personalized results your child receives. These results help identify ways to assist your child and their individual learning needs - which a standardized test won’t do.

3. Are your Grade Level Assessment Tests helpful for English language learners?

Yes. We understand that ESL students encounter a number of challenges in their education. Often they meet the academic standards required for subjects like math, but inadequate English language proficiency keeps them from reaching their full potential in not only English, but also other subjects.

Through our English language proficiency assessment, we’re able to identify your child’s writing and reading level, and this information can help inform how your child can further develop their skills in their English language arts studies.

Beyond this assessment, you may wish to move forward with getting tutoring for your child. We tutor students of all ages and English language speaking abilities. Our ESL tutors can assist English learners with English pronunciation, writing, reading and grammar skills. Our tutors include both native English speakers, and bilingual tutors.

4. Why should I choose Groza Learning Center for my child’s learning assessments?

A key component of the Every Student Succeeds Act is understanding where students are missing key elements of an overall education, and endeavouring to fill the gaps.

Groza Learning Center’s Grade Level Assessment Tests are a useful way to see if a child is meeting the national standards. Beyond testing, we provide a range of learning related services, so if your child takes one of our learning assessments, we don’t just leave them to flounder with their results. Instead, we are able to recommend customised programs that will help them get ahead. Our range of services includes tutoring and test preparation, summer programs and bridging academies.
